Use of SubSnap

SubSnap is for translating spoken content in short videos into readable subtitles. You are responsible for the links and files you submit and must only process content you are allowed to use.

Your content and license to SubSnap

You keep all rights you have in your videos, links, audio, transcripts and subtitles. You grant SubSnap a limited, temporary, worldwide license to download, copy, store, transmit, process and display the submitted content only as needed to provide translation, subtitles, previews, downloads, share links, security checks and support.

This license ends when the relevant files are deleted, except where limited records must be kept for security, legal compliance or support.

Acceptable use

Do not use SubSnap to process illegal content, violate copyright, bypass access controls, overload the service, reverse engineer the platform, attack the service, scrape it at scale or interfere with other users. SubSnap may limit, suspend or block access when needed to prevent abuse or protect the service.

Supported content

SubSnap is focused on short-form videos up to 2 minutes from supported sources: TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook videos, and uploaded MP4, MOV or WebM clips. YouTube links, unsupported links, unsupported file types and overly long videos may be rejected. Current target subtitle languages (30) are English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Slovenian, Romanian, Hungarian, Croatian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Greek, Turkish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Hebrew, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional).

Free translations

Only successfully translated videos use your free allowance. You can translate 1 video without registration. A free account gives 5 translations in total; if you already used the guest translation, you’ll have 4 left. Failed processing attempts do not count against your free allowance. SubSnap may restrict repeated or abusive attempts.

Downloads and share links

Guests may watch and download their first translated result without an account. A free account enables dashboard history and share-link creation for available results. Anyone who receives a share link may open it until the linked file expires or access is otherwise restricted.

Storage and expiry

Temporary processing files such as extracted audio are removed after processing when possible. The uploaded or downloaded video file, generated video, subtitle files and preview assets expire after 24 hours. For registered users, the history record can remain after files expire and show “File expired”.

AI output and important decisions

Subtitles are generated automatically and may contain mistakes, omissions or mistranslations. Do not rely on automatic translations for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or other important decisions without independent human review.

Availability

SubSnap is provided without any guarantee of uninterrupted availability, error-free processing or continued support for every source platform. Social platforms may block or change access to videos, and SubSnap may be unavailable during maintenance or incidents.

Account deletion

You can delete the local account data stored in your browser from Account settings. For server-side account deletion or privacy requests, contact support@subsnap.cloud. Deleting an account may remove dashboard access and history records, while temporary files may already have expired under the 24-hour retention rule.

Changes

SubSnap may change supported sources, target languages, upload limits, free-translation rules and processing availability to keep the service reliable and safe. We may update these terms as SubSnap evolves. The current version on this page applies when you use the service.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by French law, without limiting any mandatory consumer-protection rights that apply in your country of residence.
